A feeling

Do you ever get that feeling that your life is suddenly going to change and then when it is changing you notice that you still have that feeling? Like it's not over yet? That's how I have felt for a little while now and still feel. Some of it hurts and just seems bad all around but because of my faith in God I know that it is happening for a reason and that everything will turn out alright. And then there are the parts that are exciting and you're anxious to see what's going to happen. With the different occurrences that are taking place right now and the mix of such opposite feelings it's been hard not to feel confused and overwhelmed but I'm holding on to His hand.

Barrage

Barrage
A high-octane fiddle-fest that features an international, multi-talented cast performing an eclectic mix of music, song and dance.

Last week Jason and I got to see Barrage a fantastic musical group for free! Years ago when we were dating we had tickets to see them and drove about an hour or so away from where we lived only to find out when we got there that the show had been cancelled! We couldn't believe they didn't notfiy us and were needless to say very disappointed. So when we heard they were playing in a city near where we live we jumped at the opportunity to see them. Their performances were amazing! They are so talented and the music they play is exciting and beautiful! You can learn more about Barrage at their website. A Bridal Shower

Hi friends! Just wanted to quickly share a few photos with you from my friend's Bridal Shower last weekend. It was a very nice outdoor Shower with good conversation, a delicious Italian dinner, light music, and lots of presents for the bride!

3 Movies I'm looking forward to...

Only three? Not exactly. See, I'm such a movie buff that I told myself I'd pick three (for now) since I'm sure there are many others I'm interested in seeing. There are actually some movies already out that I want to see but will probably wait to watch them until they come out on Blu-Ray. X-men First Class, The Green Lantern, and Thor are amongst that list. I also really want to see a couple of movies that are already available to rent including Red Riding Hood and Jane Eyre.

THIS is the movie my husband and I have been anxiously waiting for all year! The trailer left me speechless and very hopeful that it would be better than the second movie. The first movie is our favorite and although we do like the second one the sexual humor in it was very annoying! The movie was originally going to be released on July 1 but it now hits theatres on June 29th! If you have not seen these movies and love a good story and lots of epic action then you should totally see them! The autobots are absolutely incredible!

You knew this had to be on my list didn't you? I love Twilight but I would not put myself amongst all the obsessed fangirls. The trailer was very beautiful but it left me worried about certain scenes and how they may portray them. It makes me think of all the very little girls who will be watching! I'm sure there won't be any nudity but I hope the scenes aren't too dramatic or...steamy. If only the last movie didn't have to be split into two! I'm such an impatient woman!

I just found out they were doing a third movie. The second one was a little cheesy but still funny and the chipmunks were just as adorable! Each time I've watched the movies I've wished they were real! Jason Lee and Zachary Levi do a great job in the movies too. My husband and I can't help but laugh!

Fun-filled Weekend

Over the weekend we had family visiting for my brother Jordan's High school Graduation. I can't believe I only have one more sibling left to graduate! We had such a fun time celebrating at his party on Saturday and it was so good seeing faces we hadn't seen in a long time! To top it off some of us went to Disneyland for the last time until August. Since we have the lowest pass, most of the Summer is blocked out but we all agreed that we were fine with it since it's insanely crowded and too hot during that time! Here are three of the many photos I snapped...

The Little Mermaid Ride

I feel that it is absolutely necessary that you know that I almost didn't post these photos because I truly feel they don't do the ride justice! Everything from the animatronics to the architecture of the building and beautiful music was just amazing!

On June 1st Disneyland allowed pass holders to experience the newest ride in Disneyland's California Adventure two days before it opened. When approaching the regal looking building I noticed just how long the line was. I told myself it didn't matter and that I would would ride it! As we got in line they said it would be about one hour before we got on. We ended up being in line for about thrity-five minutes which wasn't bad at all! The way the ride is set up is like The Haunted Mansion and Buzz lightyear Astro Blasters ride where the track is constantly moving so everyone is seated and strapped in for the ride much quicker than other attractions.

Being in line was really exciting! We were obsessed with the seashells that were mixed in with the cement where we were standing and the beautiful tiles near the entrance of the ride. I also loved the statue of King Triton at the top of the building looking brave and mighty with his sword! I meant to take more pictures of the outside of the ride but I guess we were too busy talking!

As we got closer to boarding we entered the building and saw the different colored shells we would soon be sitting in. My sister and I rode together while my mom and one of my brothers were in a shell ahead of us. We laughed at Scuttle who opens the ride and also happens to be the narrator. We heard my mom ahead of us exclaim "HOW COOL!" and laughed while wondering what we were going to see next! We were taken down under the sea backwards and looked up to see Ariel and flounder (I think) swimming above us which might have been digitally animated. The track took us into a huge room that was bubbling with excitement and the song "Under the Sea" with lots of familiar faces! Everything was so colorful and moved beautifully! Things suddenly turned rather dark afterwards as we entered Ursula's sanctuary (she was huge)! I loved that they had actual clips of the movie playing inside her magic ball! I believe after that (please note I may be missing scenes or little things here and there) we came upon the "Kiss the Girl" scene. Let me tell you, the animatronics are the best Disney has done! It was so cute seeing Eric and Ariel leaning in about to kiss! Shortly after that it ends with the celebration of Eric and Ariel's wedding and everybody celebrating in the sea! What a marvelous experience! I can not wait to go on it again!

Little Alice

Meet Alice, my first Pook-a-Looz plushie! My mom purchased her for me a few weeks ago on the day we went to Disneyland to get our passes. My sister got Sully from Monster's Inc who'm we both had never seen before (so cute!). They also had Stitch from Lilo & Stitch and we couldn't get over how adorable his big floppy ears were. I might have to get him next.

Pook-a-Looz started out as plush dolls and can now be found on keychains, bags and other fun accessories. I think they're just adorable! Have you heard of these plushies? Do you have any of them? If so, which ones?

ANTM: Molly is my winner!

I was bummed last night after watching American's Next Top Model. I am happy for Brittani but I think Molly might have deserved the title a little more (even though she did have a bit of a bad attitude every now and then). To me she seemed more consistent with her photos and was able to deal with the stress and craziness in the modeling world much better than Brittani (she was always crying!). Some say that Brittani's runway walk was stronger than Molly's but I don't know if I agree. I think they both had a strong and unique walk.

It seems that Brittani was chosen for her stronger walk (according to the judges), the fact that she appeared more friendly for her Covergirl commercial and that overall she seemed more of a happy and bubbly person. Sure, Molly could've worked on her commercial, but why should she pretend to be all bubbly when she's not? I understand why they favored Brittani more as far as being a Covergirl but I wonder if they'll ever choose a girl who's slightly different than what they're used to. Probably not. Brittani may have had the better commercial but I think Molly had the better photo (look below).

Overall it was a very close competition and I'm sure Molly will be able to get an agent and continue to do what she loves doing.

I don't always disagree with who the judges choose to name the winner. Last year I was ecstatic that Ann won although the year before I couldn't understand how Krista won over Raina (one of my favorites in all of the seasons!).

What are your thoughts? Do you think Molly should've won? Why or why not?

Happiest Place on Earth!

I am so happy to have a Disneyland Pass again! My mom, sister and I went last week and had a fantastic time. I loved the new Toy Story Mania ride in Disneyland's California Adventure (seriously a new favorite!), the updates to the Small World ride (they added tons of Disney characters throughout!) and walking through Sleeping Beauty's Castle (I am so glad it's open again!). I haven't seen the World of Color show yet but we'll hopefully be seeing it soon! Here are a few pictures from one of our first many adventures...

Kiwi (The Bird)

I was completely unaware (until about a week ago) that there is a type of bird called a Kiwi. I discovered the existence of this fascinating creature while watching Kate Plus 8. I tried doing some research online but didn't feel like that helped a whole lot mostly because there was non-matching information on various websites and crazy theories. One of the crazy things I saw was a drawing of the bird cut in half and inside was the kiwi fruit we eat. Um, that's just plain ridiculous!

There were a few websites that said these birds lay very large eggs. Wikipedia says that they lay the largest egg in relation to their body size of any species of bird in the world. But please don't believe everything that Wikipedia says (about anything). I've also read here and there that they are usually nocturnal (this I believe since on the show it showed them in a dark area behind glass), they supposedly run very fast, and they have very tiny wings but don't fly.

One of the very first things I thought of when I saw this bird was Alice in Wonderland. Seriously, this movie always seems to come up wherever I am on the web! Remember the purple honking duck-like creatures Alice runs into when she goes through Tulgey Wood? I think maybe the design of this fun cartoon character may have been inspired by the Kiwi. It's a possibility!

I love the roundness of the Kiwi bird and how it looks like it only has legs. It seems that they wouldn't really be able to use their wings for anything (I read that they may be 2 inches long?) so I can only imagine how much they rely on their beak.

Victoria's Secret VIP Card
This week I received my new card to Victoria's Secret along with a $10 credit to their store!

Homemade Cookies Candle from Bath and Body Works
I woke up the other morning and the trash smelled. I quickly took care of that issue and then lit this candle. Mmm yummy. I'm obsessed with candles from Bath and Body Works.

Newton's Fruit Thins
These are brand new and delicious! I tried the Blueberry flavor and decided it didn't have much taste but the Cranberry Citrus Oat flavor is a different story! There are also a few other flavors that I'll have to try some other time.

Honey Nut Cheerios
I'm a little obsessed with cereal. These make such a pleasant breakfast.

The Rachel Zoe Project
I've watched each of the seasons twice already except for the third season which I've only watched once. Why? Because I got it last month at Target for only $8. I wasn't going to, but Jason insisted. I love him.

Tangled

Now that Tangled is available to own everywhere on DVD and Blu-ray there is no reason you shouldn't rent or buy it. People often exclaim that the newest Disney movie is always the best and then repeat that same statement when the next one hits their local theatre. For me, and many others I'm sure, I can say without a doubt that this IS one of the best Disney movies ever made. The story of course is an absolute beautiful one and when combined with exquisite animation, talented actors and unforgettable songs you can't help but fall in love with this movie.

This is a film both females and males will love. Don't let the girly-ness and sweet romance of which you might have seen in a preview make up your mind! There is plenty of humor and action involved for the guys or even the gals who prefer action over romance. Hey, you never know!

Below is one of my favorite scenes and my favorite song from the movie "I See the Light" performed by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi who also voiced the main characters (Rapunzel & Flynn Ryder aka Eugene) in the movie. It's absolutely breathtaking.

When Jason took me to see this movie on Valentine's Day I did not expect to get teary-eyed but it actually happened twice! That's how emotionally connected you become with the characters and the story. I love it. This movie is brilliant and I'm ashamed to say it's not yet a part of our movie collection at home, but rest assured it will be soon.

I've been sick for almost two weeks now and although I feel fine I still have the symptoms of chest congestion and a cough. I am getting better but very slowly. I hope the rest of you have been in good health!

Blueberry Poptarts
My favorite Poptarts will always be Strawberry and Chocolate. Just recently I tried the Blueberry flavor (as requested by Jason) and it was quite delicious! What's your favorite flavor?

Angelina Jolie's performance in Changeling
We watched Changeling earlier this week. It was a very good movie but also very depressing. Angelina Jolie did an incredible job with her character. I also loved her 1920's wardrobe and stylish hair-cut! You may find a review for this movie later on...

Faux Fur Scarf
It's been cold and rainy all week so when I went to go get groceries the other day I put this scarf on from Forever 21. It kept me nice and warm!

Strawberries
I've purchased strawberries the last two times I went grocery shopping. I cut them up along with a banana and put the two in a bowl for a light and healthy snack. Yummy!

John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Cream
This tube of flawless finishing cream lasts forever! When I went to pick up a new one a couple of weeks ago I couldn't remember the last time I bought the one I had. Love this stuff!

Battle: LA & Deceiving Movie Trailers

On Friday my husband and I both left the movie theatre completely disappointed in Battle: LA. I am unaware of what people are saying about it and any reviews it has received. All I know is that I was let down. The acting was weak, I didn't feel connected to any of the characters, I wasn't fond of the dialogue, there were too many cliche' moments, and the movie as a whole just wasn't played out very well. I was expecting it to feel something like War of the Worlds but it was like I was in the middle of the kind of war in Saving Private Ryan or Black Hawk Down. I would honestly rather sit and watch the trailers. They were so much more intriguing than the actual film.

I believe for a while now that movie trailers have become very deceiving. Besides the trailers for Battle: LA here are just a couple examples of movies that I can think of that would fit under this category.

Borat
From what I remember the trailer looked somewhat funny and probably harmless. It wasn't until after the movie hit theatres that I found out how much sexual content was in it. Would you believe that movie theatres had signs up warning viewers of the explicit content in the film? Disgusting! I wasn't interested in seeing it but had I gone to see the movie and not known about places like Kids in Mind I would've been very upset and would've asked for my money back. Imagine all the parents who dragged their kids to this film (like they do every other movie). Such a shame.

The Village
The trailer made me believe that it was M. Night Shamalan's next exciting thriller. There were some thrilling moments but it was actually a very slow romantic film. I ended up liking it alot but I know many people who were let down because the trailers made them expect something totally the opposite.

I feel like the people who manage movie trailers are being dishonest to everyone when this happens. Why would you want to advertise your movie as something it's not? Maybe sometimes it's not on purpose and it just has to do with the scenes they choose, but still I don't see how they could be unaware of it. If you're putting together a trailer for a movie like Borat that has that kind of content in it and you don't hint it at all in the trailers, I think something's up. I find it all very frustrating.

This weekend my husband and I will be up in Big Bear with our youth group for Winter Camp! I can't wait to be surrounded by the beauty of the snow, mountains and large trees. It's going to be fun especially because our group of kids are completely amazing and hilarious! I laugh so much when I'm with them. Anyhow, let's take a look at what I've been loving this week!

I loved last night's Couture Photoshoot on America's Next Top Model. This shot of Brittani & Hannah was one of my favorites. I still shake my head every time I watch this dramatic show!

PB&J
I don't think many adults like peanut butter and jelly because they had it so often as children. I however still think it's one of the best sandwiches there is and enjoyed one earlier this week for lunch. It may not be the healthiest choice but it can't hurt to have one every now and then.

UP!
I love the Disney movie UP! but I never thought someone would actually attempt this! You must look at the rest of the photos over at The Splendor She Spills! It's unreal!

Long Way Round
This is a fantastic documentary following Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman's journey on their motorcycles. They covered 20,000-miles, crossed 12 countries and 19 time zones in just 115 days! Jason and I have been watching it for the second time here and there (basically whenever we remember to). We also really want to watch their newest documentary Long Way Down! The Adjustment Bureau

On Saturday night Jason and I saw The Adjustment Bureau with his brother and girlfriend. We were both equally surprised at how much of a romance it was. The trailers we had seen made it seem like it was a full on action-thriller and while there was some action in it I think many audiences might have been disappointed with the movie simply because they were going in expecting something else. My husband was one of them.

I however enjoyed it despite my expectations. I was captivated by the idea of the film (even though it wasn't played out very well) and especially the chemistry between Emily Blunt and Matt Damon's characters. I was so engaged with their story that I seemed to feel everything they were feeling and felt my eyes tear up and heart break whenever theirs did. These are obvious signs of two great performances!

I believe without their love story the movie would've been completely dull because it would've exposed how slow it actually was. The ending was also a huge let down. It was abrupt and left me completely unsatisfied. I felt so caught off guard because it came out of nowhere! Part of me wants to see it again and the other part doesn't because of the conclusion. I wonder if the writers knew how to end it, how to make it dramatic and appealing, and how to answer the questions the audience had? I'm still very confused. Maybe I do need to see it again (when it's available on Blu-Ray) since I am now aware of how it ends? Perhaps it won't be as much of a let down although it won't help how quickly it comes.

I crave these Girl Scout Cookies. CRAVE! I was going to purchase some today (was anyone else aware that they are now only $4 a box?) but I had no cash on me. Sad day.

Star Tours 2 Opening Date
I'm really excited to see what Disneyland has done with the updated Star Tours ride which opens on June 3rd. You can read more about it here if you're interested.

Fabulous Five #4

I've had a little cold all week and besides feeling tired on Monday and Tuesday I've felt fine. Last night however I began sneezing and blowing my nose more. No fun! I seem to be worse today than I have all week. *sigh*

Yesterday was fun because Jason got home early and we sat on the couch and watched TV for hours. We caught up on American Idol, The Clone Wars and also watched a handful of episodes of this Japanese cartoon called Death Note my brother lent us. It's unlike anything I've ever watched before and it's a little dark but very interesting. We also downloaded the demo for Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars and it was amazing! I love the lego games, they are so interactive and fun!

Five things I'm currently loving...

PocketBac - Cupcakes: Red Velvet
I DIE over this scent. It smells exactly like Red Velvet. I was sure to stock up on these during the Semi-Annual Sale at Bath and Body Works. Unfortunately you can't get them anymore however BABW always updates their Anti Bacterial Hand Gels with new amazing scents and they're always 5 for $5 or $1 each! You can look at the different scents they have here.

Side Braid
Lately I've found myself braiding my hair to the side. Braids naturally make your face glow and they're easy to do! I'm thinking I need to do an outfit post with my hair this way for SHE sometime.

Sleep
I love my warm comfortable bed and I love sleeping! Unforunately, I haven't been sleeping as well as I would like for over a week now. So sad :(

Library
My husband and I recently got library cards and since then we've enjoyed our trips there. I read Rachel Zoe's book Style A to Zoe and enjoyed it very much! It was so informative! One of my favorite things about this library? Being able to check out magazines like Vogue and Harper's Bazaar!

The Oscars
Jason and I have grown more and more disappointed with the Oscars each year. It's definitely not what it used to be. However, I'm still looking forward to the Fashion!

Fabulous Five #3

This week I've had no internet connection for days due to computer problems. I honestly thought of how nice it would be to have a MAC, but word is that even those are beginning to get viruses now. Will it ever stop? Anyways, this morning as I was catching up with things I checked Google Reader and I had over 240 undread blog posts! I instantly felt overwhelmed, but I've dedicated the morning to reading through many of them.

Five things I'm currently loving...

Tangled
One of my Valentine's gifts was seeing Tangled with my husband, Jason. It is honestly one of the best Disney movies I've ever seen. It's a beautifully made film filled with action, adventure, humor, romance and great songs! It captured my attention the entire time and I even got teary eyed twice! If you haven't had the chance to see it in the theatre you'll be able to rent or buy it next month! Please see this movie!

Scotchmallows from See's Candies
I had a heart shaped Scotchmallow this week as I shopped in the mall. It's made with Carmel, Honey Marshmallow and Dark Chocolate. It's so yummy, and I don't even like Dark Chocolate very much!

Jason and I like watching the auditions. However, I think I'm getting hooked again and may watch the entire season. I really like the new judges too!

Muffin Madness

It's been slightly chilly in my apartment today and I'm not sure how that makes sense since it's supposed to be warm out. I wouldn't know for sure though as I've been inside all day. I was in my warm grey robe eating oatmeal with bananas for lunch and I started thinking about muffins. It's so like me to think of things that relate to even a slight chill (hot chocolate, and a blanket and a movie for example). Muffins of course can be eaten whenever, but there's something about them when they're nice and warm that makes them perfect for cold weather.

I love all kinds of muffins, especially blueberry. One of the best blueberry muffins I've ever had was from Randy's Donuts in LA. Their muffins as well as their donuts are absolutely heavenly. They have the most wonderful taste and totally melt in your mouth.

The World's Best Candles

Some of you may know that I've been working at Bath and Body Works since November. It's been such a pleasant experience and needless to say, I've purchased and received a decent amount of items since I've been there. I can hardly begin to describe to you the many fantastic scents they have and I would highly recommend taking a trip just to smell things! In fact, I wish there was a way to "scratch & sniff" the scents I'm about to share with you.

The Bath and Body Works candles come in 3 different sizes: 4 oz, 14.5 oz, and I believe the largest is 22 oz. They are more expensive than a candle you would purchase at Wal-mart or Target, but the quality of the products completely make up for the price. Besides how could you say no to scents like Mint Chocolate, Caribbean Escape, Secret Wonderland or Pink Sangria? My manager also told me recently that the candles will go out themselves, which is a nice safety feature. Still, be sure to check your candles before you leave the house and forget to blow them out like I did!

Frosted Cranberry 4 oz - $7.00
This is probably my favorite scented candle from Bath and Body Works! The smell is absolutely mouth watering, if that makes sense. I have two of these in the smallest size. I would honestly light it every day but sadly this scent is only out for the Holidays, so I need to make it last. Who wouldn't want to smell the sweetness of cranberries all year round? The smallest candles cost $9.50 each. However since it is a seasonal scent it was on sale for only $4.75 in stores! Online is seems to be $7.00, but if I were you I'd go for the next size up which is on sale for $14.50 here.

Frosted Cupcake 14.5 oz - $19.50
This was my first candle I got from Bath and Body Works, and I still remember how amazed I was when I first smelled it! It has a very rich scent but when lit it's definitely not as strong. It actually makes our home smell like someone is baking! Jason came home one day and thought I was baking something! The 14.5 oz candles are normally $19.50.

Twilight Woods 14.5 oz - $14.50
I love the Twilight Woods Signature Collection which includes all the lotions, body mists, body butter, etc. When I found out they made a candle of this scent I knew I had to have it. This candle has a lighter scent than most of them, but as with all the candles, you'll be surprised in how many different rooms you'll be able to smell it! All the candles at our store are known for how well they spread out into the home. So even though this scent is real light and feminine, you can smell it everywhere! It makes our apartment smell heavenly! I got this candle for half off ($9.75) in stores.

Homemade Cookies 14.5 oz - $9.75
This one was another gift from my family. It's very similiar to Frosted Cupcake, but not as strong. I also want to say you can smell a hint of dough in this candle. Incredible, right? I haven't lit this one yet but I'm very eager to! Since this is a 14.5 oz candle it's normally $19.50 but currently on sale for $9.75 here.

Candle Tip: When you light one of these candles for the first time, leave it lit long enough so that it burns completely across . This will help the candle to burn evenly.

Just wanted to wish my readers a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I know I haven't posted here in a long time. My work schedule and the Holidays definitely haven't left me much time to blog these past few weeks. I've actually also been doing a lot of thinking about why I have two blogs. I love having this blog for random and personal things and I like idea of a personal blog, but sometimes I feel like just having one ( that one being SHE). Does that make sense? But then the other question is would I be able to incorporate more of myself into SHE while still keeping the main focus on fashion? Maybe I'm overthinking everything...

How many days?

There are only twelve days until Christmas. I'm still in shock over how fast this year seemed to go by, and how quickly Christmas is coming up! Last night Jason and I wrapped some gifts together while watching Frosty the Snowman. It's rather hilarious how silly the movie is, but I still love it! There are so many random things said and done, not to mention the various mistakes throughout the cartoon! I always laugh whenever Frosty comes to life because the first thing he says is "Happy Birthday!".

On a different note I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long. My job has been keeping me very busy, and like I've mentioned before my fashion blog, Style through Her Eyes always comes first!

I'm still trying to adjust to working again and fitting everything I need to do and want to do into my days/weeks. I'm sure many of you can relate!

Anyhow, I hope you're all enjoying the holiday season! What have you been doing to celebrate?

Cheesy Potatoes

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving day! As promised, I'm going to share with you a delicious side dish I made called Cheesy Potatoes. I and many others have always enjoyed them when my mom has made them for the Holidays. I decided to ask her for the recipe so I could make them and share them with Jason's side of the family.

Silly me forgot to take a picture of the Cheesy Potatoes on the day of Thanksgiving. Fortunately, I had left overs and I served them for dinner the next day along with Cream of Mushroom Chicken (also amazing).

CHEESY POTATOES

You will need...

1 24 oz. pack of Hash Brown Potatoes
2 cups of Grated Cheddar Cheese
4 to 6 Chopped Green Onions
2 cans of Cream of Chicken Soup
2 cups of Sour Cream

Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl. Bake in the oven at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until all melted. If you're like me and want to make sure it's completely done and perfect, you could take a small spoonful from the middle and taste it.

If you're planning on making it for a lot of people, I would definitely double it!

Just wanted to wish all my friends a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have a wonderful day spent with family and friends and yummy food!

This year we're spending Thanksgiving with Jason's side of the family. I will miss my family a lot but ever since we got marriage we take turns spending Thanksgiving and Christmas with each of our families. It works out well but I still always miss them.

Anyways, I'm going to be making something really good and will do my best to take photos and post the recipe later on. I also plan on watching Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving tomorrow when it records. I find it a little strange it wasn't on last night, or even today. I haven't seen it in a long time and I think it'd be fun to watch.

Holly Jolly Christmas

I know Thanksgiving hasn't passed yet, but I'm already in the mood for Christmas music, decorations, food and shopping. I figure since each year the holidays go by so quickly I might as well start celebrating Christmas a bit early.

One of my favorite Christmas movies is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I remember watching it every year more than once with my family while eating rice krispies. Yummy! The characters are so cute and loveable, and the songs are cheerful and fun to listen to. I found "Holly Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives on YouTube earlier and thought I'd share it, although I'm sure you all are quite familiar with the song.

Titanic

Recently I watched Titanic, a gorgeous film by James Cameron for the first time. Yes, you read that right. Are you a little shocked?

I honestly could watch it over and over again if it weren't for the chaos and realism of the sinking ship. I guess I could just skip over that if I wanted to, but I feel like it lasted for about an hour, which means I would miss everything in between. Yes, it's a long time to watch people panicking, falling off the ship, women and children having to leave their husbands/fathers... You get the idea right? It's honestly not as intense as other dramatic scenes in movies I have seen, but it's definitely sad and knowing that it actually happened changes the way you watch the movie.

On a much happier note...

The relationship and chemistry between Jack and Rose was so honest and beautiful. Their story is one of the sweetest romances, and I loved it because it felt so old fashioned and adventurous. They were perfect for each other in every way. Rose needed rescuing, and Jack did more than save her. I wish I could find better words to describe how much I adored them!

Do yourself a favor and watch this movie if you haven't yet. It's astounding in ever way imagineable.

Project Runway: Finale, Part 2

I'm sorry I'm posting this so late everyone. If you haven't seen the Finale yet, PLEASE DO NOT READ PAST THIS LINE!

As most of you probably know, Gretchen was named the winner of this season. I do have to say that she had the best designs in her 10 piece collection, she had many different pieces she created which is always a plus, and in the end she listened to the judges advice. I feel like maybe some people don't like that she won because they don't like her as a person. She hasn't always had the best attitude and her head did get a little big, but this was not about winning for best personality, it was about winning for the best designs. With that said, I do feel that both Andy and Mondo have created better pieces than Gretchen in the past. I was just as surprised as everyone else.

Still, part me of thinks they all deserved to win. There was something I really liked about each of their work as a designer. I understand why it was difficult to judge, although I couldn't believe the judges were unable to make a decision for so long. Half of them thought Mondo should win and the other half wanted Gretchen. They continued to argue and debate for what seemed like an entire night! I'm not sure how they ended up choosing a winner although I think Tim Gunn was brought into it. It was kind of insane.

GRETCHEN

Both of these dresses moved beautifully on the runway! I wanted to wear them and let the wind take me far away! Believe it or not they were my two favorite designs out of all of the collections that were shown. I think some of the pieces in this collection were some of Gretchen's best work she's done throughout the entire season. She even designed all the necklaces, which I think made the perfect accessories. Still, I wonder if her collection is too simple for high fashion? I definitely think they're wearable, but I'm not sure if the collection as a whole screams Runway.

MONDO

I have always loved the way Mondo works with patterns and colors. However I do think this collection leans more towards the younger side. I think if he took away the silly head pieces it would help a lot. Still, I really liked his collection and I adore the bubbly dress! I think besides his designs looking a little young his collection was bold, dramatic and fun. However I do not think a handful of the designs were his best work.

ANDY

Was I the only one who didn't see Andy in this collection? Where was the edgyness and creativity? I didn't really fall in love with any of this designs, and I think the head pieces were a huge distraction. I really liked the silver dress with the dangly chains, but that was about it. Of course the pleating (which he did by hand) on the green dress is quite impressive, but there was nothing else to get excited over. I really thought he could've won had he chose a route that was more him for the collection.

What did you all think? If you don't think Gretchen should've won, who would you have picked?

Project Runway: Finale, Part 1

Wow, can you believe this week we'll have a winner on Project Runway? I'm really excited! Who do you think should win the competition?

Last week the four remaining contestants were each given $9,000 and 6 weeks to create a 10 piece collection which would be shown at Lincoln Center during Fashion Week. Stress alert! Once they were finished, the judges surprised them by announcing they had to create one more to go along with the collection they already created.

Sadly, the contestants were only able to choose the new look and two others from the collection to show to the judges. Yes, this means we still haven't seen the rest of the pieces! Unfortunately the three designs they chose weren't their best work at all. I chose one piece from the three they were able to show to review. You can see all of the looks here.

I did not particularly love any of these designs, but here they are just the same...

Mondo's Design

This is a really bold looking print that's fun and simple. It does look rather overwhelming, and I think this piece would fit perfectly in Cruella de Vil's wardrobe. Still, I think I'd try it on.

Michael C.'s Design

I love the colors he used! The top is alright, but my favorite part about this set are the pants. They are covered in sequins! Now, there's a statement piece for you.

Andy's Design

This doesn't look like something Andy made. The head piece is a little odd, but I do love the pleating. He did it all by hand! I really admire his creativity.

Gretchen's Design

It's a simple dress that's easy to wear, but does it say Runway? I think the design is cute but it's a little too plain for me. Maybe some accessories would do the trick?

I've always been obsessed over how cute and feminine Macarons are. Like most people, I've never had the pleasure of trying one. I think trying a macaron would be something I'd like to add to my "To-do list". However, right now it seems that I would have to travel somewhere to try one unless I find a place in my state where they sell them. I'm also doing my research to see if there are any online shops that ship them. Yeah, I'm a little desperate. I could try making my own but there would be no telling how good they are compared to macarons from a bakery. Becoming Lola posted a recipe not long ago on how to make Macarons with Chocolate Ganache & Salted Caramel. They looked too beautiful to eat, as they all do!

After I collected these photos, I did a little web searching for macarons and I found one place in my state and another place that ships them to the US! I'm a little giddy right now! Here are some of the great links I found...

Shop Sucré - This place sells macarons, chocolates and other treats out of New Orleans, LA. They ship to the Continental US only! I love this part: "We do NOT ship Friday through Sunday due to the fragility of our products, which we want to arrive at your door in perfect condition.". Amazing! They sell a large box of 15 macarons for $23.00. It's pricey, but don't you think it'd be worth it?

Paulette Macarons - This place is located in Beverly Hills, CA and San Francisco, CA and they only sell macarons, which is perfectly fine with me! They take online orders where you can pick them up yourself or have them shipped to you. However, I can't seem to find where they are able to ship to. Their macarons are $1.60 each, or you can get a box of 12 for $19 or 24 for $36.

Ladurée - I can't read a word on this website but it's lovely and they carry many other goodies besides macarons. They have shops in France, Italy etc. I imagine these places would be the best to try one!

Madeleine Patisserie - I have no idea where this place is located. The website is definitely not as great as the others but I was amazed at all the flavors of macarons they have. You can see the list here.

French Macarons on Etsy - I adore this little shop on Etsy! They have macaron photographs, place card holders, jewelry, and other fun little items! I'm tempted to purchase something.

Project Runway Season 8: Episode 12

You know, it really feels like all I have been posting about is Project Runway. I'd like to post about the show once a week like I have been, and also include another post that has nothing to do with it. I've just been really busy the past couple of weeks.

Anyhow, last week the contestants were challenged to create a design inspired by New York City. Since there were only 5 designers left, I'll be posting each of their creations this time.

Mondo's Design

As always, I love the way Mondo works with patterns but I feel like he duplicated fabric he's used before. Although this is a more simple piece, it's still a lovely dress and I think he did a wonderful job. I especially like the dramatic neckline!

Michael C.'s Design

Michael wanted to create something that flowed very gracefully like the Statue of Liberty. Even though the slit was bascially inappropriately high, and the back was rather low, I think he did a gorgeous job. The way the dress moved was amazing!

Andy's Design

I think Andy played it a little safe designing a dress that was all black. However, it's a perfect little black dress and that is what counts. The back of the dress has all kinds of criss-crossed straps that give the overall look a perfect edgy feel.

April's Design

The judges referred to April's design as the "With Dress" and something she has done before. I can see what they're saying about it looking a little "Witchy", but I love the shapes on the top half. I feel that if she had worked with more color throughout her design it wouldn't have looked that way.

Gretchen's Design

I have to tell you, I haven't really been a fan of Gretchen's work lately. The only thing I really like about this look is the skirt, and that's probably because of the black lace over the burgundy color. I think it's lovely. Overall I don't feel like the pieces go together. You should see the back of the jacket! It looks unfinished and awkward!

Project Runway: Season 8, Episode 11

Oh my how the week goes by! I've been so busy and it's late over here, but I wanted to get my thoughts up on the designs from last weeks Project Runway. Please be sure to not spoil me on tonight's episode yet as I haven't seen it.

The contestants had to create a Three-Piece Active-Wear Set for Heidi's line with New Balance (which by the way, the winner's items are now available to purchase!). But, before I share with you my favorite designs, do you mind if I just rant really quick?

Rant 1 - When Heidi visited the contestants at their work spaces, I felt like she was totally acting like a know-it-all. Sometimes it seems like she thinks she is the Queen and everyone is beneath her. I don't like that.

Rant 2 - All of the contestants who had previously been voted off came back to help the current contestants with this huge stressful task! Ivy OF COURSE had to pick a fight with Michael C. She was bringing up things that she thought he supposedly did from before and was getting on his case about it. Michael C. didn't have nice things to say back to her, but she wouldn't shut-up! Finally, Tim Gunn came to the rescue and basically said that the past was past, and all they needed to worry about was the present. He also mentioned that he or the other people who run the show didn't find any evidence of Ivy's claiming that Michael C. was cheating. Michael was completely cool with letting it go, but Ivy totally had an attitude and rolled her eyes at Tim! Seriously, don't come back Ivy! I'm done with the drama!

Alright, I feel better now...

ANDY

I love the simple color palette and the funky patterns on these pieces. They're both real easy looks, but the patterns make them look a little more interesting to look at and exciting to wear.

MONDO

I like both of the loose-fitted tops. They look extremely comfortable to wear and they're very different styles from anything I've seen. The headbands are so quirky and fun!

APRIL

This is like a semi-elegant active-wear dress with a really cool arm band. I love how many unique looks she continues to create with her favorite color, black.

After looking at these do you really see yourself working out in any of these pieces? I sure don't. I would label these pieces more as lounge-wear than active-wear, but sometimes people consider those to be the same thing. Which were your favorites? Did you like any designs that I didn't include?

You've Got Mail - Pic Spam

I recently watched You've Got Mail on TV for the millionth time. It's a romantic comedy that I could never get sick of. There's just something about this movie that draws me to it. I really just love the easiness of the film and how serene and adorable every aspect of it is. I'm not sure that will even make sense to those of you who haven't seen it, but those are just a few of the words that run across my mind whenever I watch it cuddled up with a pillow and maybe a snack on my couch.

As I browsed through the many caps from this website, I thought it'd be fun to sum up the journey of Joe and Kathleen. Their story is such a unique one. Tom hanks and Meg Ryan do a tremendous job of making these characters come to life, and their chemistry together is so cute and realistic. Oh, and did I mention how equally hilarious they both are? Many laughs always seem to slip out!

This definitely is not your regular romantic comedy, it's better. Therefore I highly suggest you watch it, especially on a rainy snuggly day. It's simply one of those movies!

Michael C.'s Design

I really love the colors and how simple this look is. The mustard yellow pumps match perfectly with the accented color on the bodice (my favorite part). I think it's just a really cute design.

"My Love" by Sia is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful and emotional songs there is. I first heard it in Eclipse during a romantic scene with Edward and Bella. About two weeks ago I remembered how much I loved the song, but had no idea who sang it. Youtube helped me with that, and when I found the song, I melted as tears welled up in my eyes. Since then, I've been listening to it non-stop.

The music is so deep, powerful and enchanting, and Sia's voice is easily capable of goosebumps. I would love if you listen to it and tell me what you think.

Project Runway: Season 8, Episode 9

I haven't yet watched the latest episode, but I did watch last weeks and I'm really excited because there were some great pieces! The contestants had to create a High Fashion look, and while they were in the middle of creating their pieces Tim comes in and explains that they'll also need to create a Ready-to-War look to go along with it. Stress! Here are my favorites...

Mondo's High Fashion Look

I seriously love Mondo's designs. The bright colors, fabric and edgy look on this piece are so perfect. I adore every angle of this dress! I searched for a while to find more pictures and stumbled upon this photo. Perfection, right? Love, Love, LOVE!

Michael C.'s High Fashion Look

Oh my gosh, so divine! I love the color and structure of this gown. However, the train was ridiculously long and awkward. I think he could've either won or been in the top three had he designed the train differently. His Ready-to-Wear look was also gorgeous but rather short.

Andy's High Fashion Look

Another incredible piece! The outfit is not only futuristic, but it makes the model look like she's ready to take on anything, even an intense one-on-one battle. The details make it obvious that there was a lot of thought put into this design. His Ready-to-Wear look was also perfect.

Christopher's High Fashion Look

Ohhh, so beautiful! The colors, fabrics, the Goddess-like presence. However, I don't think it's quite perfect. There is something that needs to be altered. Maybe if the bodice was a complete solid color? I can't quite put my finger on it.

Christopher's Ready-to-Wear Look

I really love Christopher. This is so simple and chic. Who wouldn't wear it? It's a piece you could wear just the way it is, or you could so easily accessorize it for a more dramatic look. So pretty!

April's Ready-to-Wear Look

I love that April goes with a darker theme but the problem is, I always forget if I like it or not because the pictures are always so dark. I definitely love the sleeves. She has a thing for big poofy shoulers.

Gretchen's Ready-to-Wear Look

Although very different from her High Fashion look, I really like this. It's simple, pretty and perfect for the Fall. However, I would alter the side of the skirt as there is a huge slit that is unnoticable until you see the model walk. Besides that, I see many women wearing this.
I also semi-liked Gretchen and Valeri's High Fashion Looks, but they weren't my favorites. Share with me what you do and don't like and if you had a favorite that I didn't post!

Across the Universe of Time

Ever since my best friend gave me one of Hayley Westenra's cds I've been hooked. I've had it for years and still love listening to her, although sadly I haven't listened to any of her recent work. I'm absolutely addicted to her song "Across the Universe of Time" (she also does a beautiful version of "May it Be" from LOTR). Project Runway: Season 8, Episode 8

Hi ladies! This Episode of Project Runway aired last week. I didn't want you to be confused as the next one (Episode 9) is on today, but for me, that won't be until later tonight.

For this challenge the contestants had to create Sportswear that Jacqueline Kennedy would wear today. A lot of them seemed to struggle, but a few came up with some cute looks including these...

Ivy's design is one of my favorites. The look is simple and classic with a geometric feel although you can't hardly tell in the photo. Part of the top is lifted and pointed near the right elbow, and there is a specific shape on the top itself with a white and light grey color. The jacket also is also very similiar in it's shape and form.

Mondo's is my other favorite. He did such a fantastic job with his design. I love the use of different patterns, something we've seen a lot of at Fashion Week. I can't remember what the little jacket looked like, but I seem to recall that I liked the overall look a lot better with the jacket on.

This is Valerie's design. My favorite part of her look is the jacket that she created.

I feel like I have to re-watch when April's look came down the runway. It's hard to see any detail in this photo (except for the poofy sleeve)! I honestly can't remember if I liked it, but I'm posting it anyways.

Oh wow, another seven facts! Hopefully I don't repeat any from last time.

1) I'm obsessed with The Rachel Zoe Project. It's one of my favorite shows (as many of you know). She brings a little drama with her wherever she goes, but she's truly amazing at what she does. I believe she is one of the best stylists in the world.

2) I love plushies. You know, those cute little stuffed toys. I have so many different kinds. I have a lot of monkeys, quite a few Belle dolls, a Polar Bear from Build a Bear, and the list goes on. My newest addition are the Peas-in-the-pod from Toy Story 3. They're all so cute!

3) The first thing I do when I get up is check my email and all other updates online. I look forward to it each and every morning and even end up eating some cereal at my desk. It's such a routine.

4) I've never been to Six Flags. I don't like roller coasters or any big scary rides. When I was a teenager, my family was going and I refused to go and even be around the rides. So, I called my best friend up and spent the night over at her place.

5) I mentioned before that my husband and I met in 2002 in line for Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. We exchanged emails and we got to know each other by writing long emails almost every day for a couple of years. It was like an old fashioned romance only we weren't handwriting the letters. I have all my emails saved from him. They're truly special to me.

6) I love heels but my feet are so sensitive which makes it really hard to find the perfect pair whenever I need/want them. I have some pairs that I literally can't walk around in for very long. Sadly, they're really only good for a short night out, like dinner or something.

7) I've been to the Grand Canyon before. It was one of the most amazing views I've ever seen. There were times I thought it honestly just looked like a painting. It's definitely amazing, but also really scary if you walk up to the edge. I saw some people riding on donkeys on the mini trails way down below. I WOULD NEVER DO THAT!

Project Runway: Season 8, Episodes 6 & 7

Honestly, I can't remember a lot of the designs from last week (Episode 6) which probably means they weren't all that exciting. The designers had to take different bridesmaid dresses and turn them into something wearable. Let's face it, not all bridesmaid dresses are something you'd wear again! I don't understand the descisions brides make in choosing dresses for their girls. I myself wanted my girls to look gorgeous, and they did!

I'm not going to even bother posting pictures because I'm not very crazy about any of them, although there are a few that I "like". You can view the photos at Closet Fashionista if you're interested.

As for Episode 7, the designers had to create Resort wear and they had to team up with one other designer and swap designs! I seriously would freak out if I had to trust someone else to creat the image I had in my head, especially the first time!

Here are my favorites...

This obviously doesn't make you think of Resort wear, but I do think Casanova did a gorgeous job. The judges thought it looked like it was made for an old lady, but I think they are just so used to saying that. Seriously, this top is so classy and the pants are simple and perfect. It looked stunning on the runway!

I mostly love the fabric Michael C. chose for his design. It shined in a stunning way on the run way. The belt is also really cute. I'm not sure it's quite a favorite, but I just really liked the fabric.

Again, I don't know if this is quite a favorite, but I think it's cute. Christopher did a lovely job with the top and I adore the clutch purse he chose.
Overall I think Andy's Design was the best. It's probably one of the most sexy one piece bathing suits I've ever seen. I'd ever wear this out though, it's much too revealing! The wrap adds so much gorgeousness and femininity to it. I was amazed at how it flowed so gracefully. I love the colors too! I think this photo is horrible and doesn't do the design justice. You have to watch the episode to truly appreciate it.

Seriously, I'm quite obsessed. You have no idea.

As I've previously stated here, The Rachel Zoe Project is one of my favorite shows and I'm so determined to purchase the first two seasons (and the third when it's released) on dvd as I haven't seen all of the episodes.

On the latest episode Rachel and her team finished up everything for Cameron Diaz and Demi Moore at the most recent Oscar Awards Show. The process is insane but completely amazing! I just love her work and all the Runway shows we get to see!

Here's a quote from Rachel that I jotted down. It made me laugh!

Anniversary Weekend

Most of you know by now that August 30th was our 2 year Wedding Anniversary! It's really insane how fast the time is going by, but we have been enjoying every minute of it! We decided to celebrate all weekend, and I'm here to share what we did with you.

On Saturday we went to go see Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. We both thoroughly enjoyed the film! It was so hilarious and very action-packed, and the two of them had great chemistry! I would definitely recommend seeing it!

The theater we went to see the movie at was very old looking. No stadium seating with red cushioned chairs, a beautiful balcony, and lovely decorations. Unfortunately I don't have more pictures to share as they didn't allow photos inside. I was lucky to get this quick shot!

Afterwards we went to the mall. One of our favorite things to do together is walk around hand-in-hand and shop, even if we don't buy anything. We stumbled upon a Sbarro, so of course we got all excited and ordered one piece of pizza and a fruit bowl to share. It was our mid-day snack I guess you could say. I don't think I have had their pizza since I was a little girl. The taste was absolutely amazing!

The mall we went to was one we had never been to. It wasn't that great but they did have a couple of really cool shops and windows that were as tall as the ceiling at the entrances. I loved the way it looked!

There was this one shop where they sold swords, guns, costumes and other master replicas from popular movies, video games, etc. We both really liked it!

I think the best place was the $1 Book store! We were in there for a long time! Jason got a handful of books on writing scripts and movie making. I got Sean Astin's There and Back again - An Actor's Tale, Little Women, The Devil Wears Prada, and Star Wars - The Adventure Continues. The only one I've read before is Little Women which I loved. The Star Wars book takes place right after Return of the Jedi. I can't remember if I've read it before, so why not? It was only $1!

After the mall we went to dinner at Chili's, one of our favorite restaurants. The chips and salsa there are delicious. The chips are so thin and crispy. Yum! Jason ordered a quesadilla plate that was stuffed with steak, jalapenos, cheese and who knows what else! I tasted it and it was fantastic! I ordered the chicken fajitas, which were just as amazing.

We ended the night by going to Toys "R" Us. We love this place! Sadly, we didn't spend as much time there as we would've liked to but we're planning another trip soon. We browsed through the latest issue of the Star Wars Insider which had all kinds of rare facts on The Empire Strikes Back. I also found the newest "I love Lucy" Barbies. I don't think they have used the Kelly Dolls for any of the Lucy themes yet, so that was fun to see. Don't you just love Lucy's expression in the last photo?

On Monday we did a few things including requesting our marriage certficate. That is too much of a long and complicated story of why we just did that, but at least very soon I will be able to change my name on everything!

Anyways, we had a nice dinner at home together and exchanged cards (sorry, no picture) which were beautiful. After that we got some drinks from Starbucks and brought them to Target where we looked around and played with the sunglasses.

I don't remember everything we did when we got back but I do remember sitting down and going through all the nice notes we got from our wedding. Instead of getting one of those pictures that everyone signs, we got a Prayer Box which comes with little note cards where people can write you messages or say a prayer for your marriage. The box is the cutest thing ever.

So there's what we did. Hopefully I covered everything! Yes, we did a lot of walking around and shopping! We enjoy the experience so much. It's unbelievable how much we talk and laugh together <3If you're interested, there are a few more fashion-related photos from the weekend at SHE.

Just when I thought it was getting cooler, it got super hot over the weekend! I really dislike it. I swear the temperature is like having a fever. I'm ready for layering, coats, sweater dresses, boots and scarves! Maybe this gorgeous photo will help make you feel a little cooler and happier for a few seconds as it did for me.

I didn't forget about posting about our anniversary last weekend, it's just been such a busy week. I promise I'll share the fun and photos with you this upcoming week!

I also haven't watched the latest Project Runway episode yet! Hopefully I'll be able to watch it soon. I can't wait!

Project Runway: Season 8, Episode 5

Wow, what an episode! I'm sure everyone knows by now that the contestants were split into two teams and had to work together to create a complete collection. My favorite team and the winners of this Episode were Team Luxe! They did such a fantastic job with incorporating lace into their designs. I have to admit, I began feeling a little obsessed. Lace along with big hair? I love it.

Gretchen was extremely dramatic. I couldn't believe how she went on and on when talking to the judges. I do feel like she was too much of a "boss", but when it comes down to it, the other contestants had a choice. They didn't have to listen to her. A person can be manipulative, but we still are our own person, and we have to stand up for what we believe is the right thing to do.

Anyhow, here are two of my favorite looks...

Casanova was the winner of Team Luxe. It was good to see him praised, even though he acted like a child in this episode. I like the outfit a lot, especially the blouse, but I would alter it so that you couldn't see the model's belly through the blouse. Look at the unique details on the knees of the pants. So fun!

Peach's creation was actually my absolute favorite! I love everything about it! The colors are perfect, and I love the small touch of gold. I hope she continues to do well, because this was her best yet!
This past weekend my husband and I celebrated our 2 Year Wedding Anniversary! We had a nice time, and I'm hoping my next blog post will be about that, so stay tuned!

The Rachel Zoe Project

How much do I love The Rachel Zoe Project? So much! The most recent episode earlier this week (can't remember the name of it) was probably my favorite one yet. Rachel and her team attended a handful of fashion shows and even went behind-the-scenes with Oscar de la Renta! I was freaking out a little. This episode was filmed before the Oscars and the show ended with the team still trying to find gowns for Cameron Diaz and Demi Moore. Exciting, right?

Yes, this show can be ridiculously dramatic, the team doesn't always choose the nicest words to say, and not to mention the awkwardness of certain scenes. Seriously, why are so many shows like this? A little less drama would be extremely refreshing! Anyhow, just thought I'd let those of you know who don't watch it but may be interested in watching it.

If you love fashion, I promise you'll love this show. There are always such fun surprises and so much to drool over! Since I've began watching the show, I look forward to it every week!

I feel like Rachel becomes too overly obsessed with her job sometimes and when she's like that I don't like the outcome of how she treats her husband. He seems to love her to death and wants to be with her, but she places him last on the list quite often.

I'm all for being completely in love with what you do, but we need to be careful to not forget about the people who mean the most to us in life.

I think as a stylist, she is brilliant but she really needs to work on not stressing out so much over things because she gets crazy, and to me, it seems rather unprofessional.

I'm not judging her or anything. I know a lot of people don't always deal with stress so well, including myself although I'm way better than I used to be (thank God). I think if we focus more on trying to be calm in these situations things will turn out better. A lot of it has to to with being aware of our surroundings and our own feelings.

SHE - STYLE THROUGH HER EYES
It seems that not many people know that I am one of the three ladies who posts on the fashion blog Style through Her Eyes. Yep, it's true! This is just my personal blog.

ORGANIZATION & ADMINISTRATION
I am a very organized person. You will never find me without my brown and pink planner from Target. I think because I love organization I greatly enjoy administration. I always seem to be planning events, putting schedules together, etc. This all comes very handy with the teens that I work with!

CLEAN & TIDY
I like everything to be clean and tidy. I honestly can't stand when things are dirty, especially bathrooms and kitchens! Sure, I have a junk drawer as most people do, and there are certain areas that aren't organized in the way I'd like them to be. Not all apartments have great storage space, but I do my best!

SCREAMING
I scream and squeal about a lot of things. Whenever there is a bug around, and it doesn't even have to be near me, I'll scream. Spiders and mosquitoes especially freak me out! I also squeal about exciting things, like when I got a purse I wanted for Christmas, and for more normal reasons like the rides at Disneyland.

HEAT
I can not stand the heat. Summer is my least favorite season, but I do enjoy the clothes and fun activities that come with it. I complain a lot in the Summer. Ha ha ha.

MIDDLE NAME
My middle name is "Marie". I like combining my first name with my middle name, which makes "Jenmarie". I have an email address with that name, and I use it on a few places on the web like Independant Fashion Bloggers, for example.

PIERCINGS
I don't have any piercings, but I would love to get my ears pierced. The only problem is....I'm scared. I don't want to go through the process of getting them pierced and I'm also worried about the sensitivity of my skin. I wonder how it'd react to a pair of earrings...

Project Runway: Season 8, Episode 4

Oh dear. Last week's Project Runway was definitely not as impressive as the one before. I'm sure having to work with Philip Treacy's bizarre hat collection was a difficult challenge but the contestants, I felt, were really slacking in the creativity department.

This was my favorite of all the designs. Christopher created a beautiful piece to go with the hat (which I absolutely adore). Like most, I'm not sure the leggings really work. I think maybe it's the color of the under skirt and the leggings that are the problem. They shouldn't be the same color. What if the dress were longer with no leggings and the black boots?

Peach's design for this challenge just might be her best yet. I am absolutely in love with the idea of two different patterns working together to create an outfit. I think it looks fabulous. She easily could've chosen one that would have clashed, but she definitely succeeded.

Although Casanova's design is something we often see in the fasion world, it's beautifully made. I love how simple it is, and I think he made the right choice in making it all black. It's perfect for the wild hat.
Those were the creations I was most impressed with. I did like Michael's Design alot but the cut is way too low. Why with the constant revealing clothing? Oh, and the other Michael (can't remember either of their last names) won? This is yet another piece that is very familiar. Sure, it's pretty but I'm confused.

Jobs & Unmentionables

There are job openings at Forever 21 right now, so yesterday I decided to apply. On one hand I'm saying to myself, "What are you thinking? How will you not spend your entire pay check there?", and on the other hand I'm thinking, "I would totally love working in a place like this!". Along with these thoughts, I am fearing working the cash register, which makes me wonder if I even really want the job. But realistically most jobs have cash registers. I know there are a number of jobs that don't require you to work the registers, but sometimes that's where they have you start out. Just thinking about it makes me nervous! Anyhow, wish me luck because I applied at a few different places yesterday. Oh and if any of you have tips on working the cash register, I'd be happy to receive them!

While I was out yesterday I picked up my free cotton hiphugger from Victoria's Secret. I love having an Angel Card because they always send you coupons and free stuff! I love the print and the colors of this panty. It's so cute! I also love the bags they use, and most of the time they stuff the bag with matching tissue paper. I can't help but feel special!

Project Runway: Season 8, Episode 3

On Friday I began watching Project Runway and I have really enjoyed what I've seen so far. Thanks to Closet Fashionista for encouraging me to check it out with her lovely reviews of the show. I haven't yet decided if I want to talk about PR on Style through Her Eyes yet, so for now I will post about it here.

Today I watched "It's a Party" which was third episode of the most recent season. The designers had to create outfits out of party supplies. I was really wondering how they would turn out, especially seeing the different items they were choosing like napkins, streamers, plates, and other odd accessories. The end results seriously blew me away! Here are my favorites:

My absolute favorite is Christopher's design. I can't even tell he made this dress out of napkins! I love the cut of the dress, the color and the unique details. It's lovely, and so feminine! I would totally wear this dress.

This one is much too short but I love how edgy it looks. Would you believe this one is made entirely out of ribbons? Oh, and the glove she is wearing is made out of balloons! Andy did an amazing job and won this challenge!

I loved the movement of this dress as the model was walking the runway. The color is fantastic and I believe Michael used paper plates for this design. I wonder if it was uncomfortable to wear?

April's design is a very dark whimsical dress. I love the details and the spikey expanded piece on the top is so dramatic. I love the silver, sparkly touch!

Coming Soon to the Pantages Theatre

A week ago I found out that The Phantom of the Opera would be returning to the Pantages Theatre in LA for the last time! Thankfully, I've seen it before but oh how amazing it would be to see it again and witness the power of some of the most beautiful music ever. I've seen many musicals, including: Les Mis, Oliver Twist, Wicked, etc. but I think The Phantom of the Opera will always be my favorite. It will be showing this year from September 23 - October 17, 2010. You can find more information here.

Afterwards I realized that Beauty and the Beast (my favorite Disney movie of all time) would return to LA after 15 years. The crazy thing is, I saw it the last time it was here which means I was probably about 9 years old. I remember going to see it, the seats we had, but I don't have much memory of the play itself. I think it'd be so exciting to go and see it again! This one will be playing at the Pantages theatre next year from March 9 - 26, 2011. Click here for more information.

Inception

SPOILER WARNING!!
I saw Inception with my husband last night and like most people, we both really enjoyed it. Since it came out I honestly can think of only one person who thought it was just "ok".

This is one of the most creative movies I have ever seen! I think I would like it even more seeing it a second time. There is a lot to follow, and the beginning was especially so confusing because as an audience we didn't yet understand the concept of the idea yet. By the way, my lovely friend Casee found a great link on The 5 Levels of Inception. Check it out!

I didn't feel emotionally connected to the characters like I did with characters in a movie like Gladiator. There should've been more development. I felt like I hardly knew any of them, and that was frustrating. I think the actors did a good job with their roles, but I expected a lot more character development and emotion.

On a different note, there was not a dull moment in this movie. I was getting a little tired of what was taking place in the mountains, but everything that was happening there was completely necessary.

I love the actors in this movie! Marion Cotillard was amazing, but very freaky. Ellen Paige was to my surprise, really good. By the way, both of these ladies looked fantastic!

I was so happy to see Michael Caine and Cillian Murphy in this movie. I wish Michael had a bigger role, he is the best! I hadn't seen a movie where Cillian plays a "good guy", so that was really cool.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was pretty funny. I liked the chemistry between him and Tom Hardy. I don't think I've ever seen Tom in anything.

I thought Ken Watanabe was Yun-Fat Chow, one of the Pirates in POTC: At World's End, and then I realized he was in The Last Samurai and Batman Begins. I think Ken and Yun-Fat Chow look alike! The old man make-up job they did on him was very real looking. I was a little scared.

Leonardo DiCaprio was of course, good. I'm not a huge fan of him like everyone else is, and it's not because I don't like him. Maybe I'm not a fan because I don't think he's cute? I know a lot of women love him, but I don't get it.

For those wondering, I do think Cobb was in the real world in the last scene. The top (can't remember the name of it) did continue to spin but in the last few seconds it sort of shifted and began making a different sound, which would mean that it was slowing down and about to stop. However, the fact that it ended with it still spinning really messes with you!

Yes, the movie is worth seeing!

Today is Jason's (my husband) 27th Birthday! He was almost 19 when I met him and I was 16. I reminded him of this last night and it sounded so weird saying it. Time goes by really fast and sometimes we don't realize it until we remember amazing days like these. I really do treasure every second I have with him even when we don't have a lot of time together. It's on these days where we both need to be especially thankful for each other, the time we have and the relationship God has given us. Every momemt is precious!

I hope that this lovely Donut Spam doesn't lead any of you to think that all I think about are sweets, or that I eat donuts all the time. Honestly, I love donuts but I would be a fool to eat them as often as I find pretty pictures of them :P They're a nice treat to have every once and a while but shouldn't be part of our regular diet.

DC Cupcakes

Last night I watched a new show on TLC called DC Cupcakes. It reminded me a lot of Cake Boss only with Cupcakes of course. There's still the silly drama that goes on with the employees, and of course the stress that comes with crazy orders but I guess they need to make it interesting right? People like drama.

I really enjoyed watching them make the cupcakes although there wasn't as much as I would've liked to see. I hope that with the upcoming episodes they will show more detail as far as the frosting and decorating goes. I really enjoy watching these kinds of shows and I always end up wanting to bake afterwards.

This is a song called Roslyn by Bon Iver & St. Vincent written specifically for Twilight: New Moon. It's so beautiful but also a little depressing to me. Perhaps it's because of the reminder of when I first heard the song, during the most painful scene in the movie. It makes me want to cry, but I truly love it.

I've always dreamed of walking on the red carpet. With my husband currently working on a movie script, you never know what could happen! I think it would be very overwhelming, but I would totally love it.

Pook-a-Looz

A couple of weeks ago I was in the Disney store and saw these brand new Disney Stuffed Toys called Pook-a-Looz! Aren't they darling? I'm really wanting to get a few of them. They have so many different sets and I've read that there are more on the way!

They're currently priced at 2 for $20.00 which I don't think is a really good price at all. To me, they don't seem like they should be $10.00 each. Maybe $8.00 or something.

Don't you feel safe in knowing that your thoughts are you own? Only the creator of the universe has the power to know what you're thinking.

I was thinking about it this morning and how fortunate we are that we can't read each other's thoughts like in some movie or tv show. We would have no privacy! I'm sure many of us at times wish we could read someone's mind in a certain situation. It might even be helpful to have our own thoughts read if someone didn't understand or believe us or if we couldn't explain the way we felt. There is probably a list of different times it may come in handy...

Overall I'm happy with the way we've been created.

Donut Day

This is what happended last Friday on Donut Day. Jason came home with the free glazed donut Krispy Kreme was giving out and the following:

Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles (my favorite kind of donut)
Powdered Strawberry Filled
New York Cheescake (way too rich!)
Chocolate Iced Cream Filled
Glazed Appled Filled (not sure on the name of this one)

We sat there and took a bite of each one, and the next two days after we did the same thing. We love donuts but we don't get them often... Although lately it seems to be somewhere around once a month. We don't ever have sweets in our house so it's ok. I just need to make sure it's kept under control. I've always said that if donuts were "ok" to eat I'd eat them all the time.

Intro

Some of you may know that you can find me just about everywhere across the web. I have everything from a simple formspring.me to a Star Wars fansite that has been online for nine years and counting. Since I was introduced to the web I've been drawn to the many different things I could create and become a part of. It's somewhat of an obsession I guess although I don't really want to call it that.

When creating this blog I wondered what I would use it for. I already have a livejournal, but it is set to private so not everyone gets to read it. I thought maybe this would be a good idea and so I'm trying it out. I wanted to name the blog White Wave (same as my domain) but every form of that phrase was taken. So I guess White-wave.com will have to remain as my directory for now.

I'm not quite sure how I'll use this blog, or even what I will post here. Only time will tell. Hopefully it continues to exist and I hope even more that the name continues to satisfy me. You'll know if it doesn't ;)

Keep in mind that my fashion blog StyleThroughHerEyes comes before this one on my list. I refuse to neglect it. I actually have certain days I post to keep things regularly updated. Thankfully I also have a beautiful staff to work with!
